Post Doctoral

Postdoctoral researcher positions are currently available. Exceptional opportunities include grant writing, directing data analyses, and writing scientific papers. Several unique projects are currently in development. Experience with large scale, clinical trials research is preferred. Candidates must have superior conceptual, organizational, analytical, and publication skills. This multi-disciplinary project offers collaborative and mentorship opportunities with the possibility to participate in undergrad/graduate teaching, if desired. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Start date is flexible.

Pre-Doctoral (Graduate) Students

Individuals seeking training in our research have exceptional academic records and participate actively in interdisciplinary, cancer control research. Trainees have success in securing cancer-relevant internships, post docs, and job placements. The laboratory environment facilitates the 'best and the brightest' to their transition as independent investigators and leaders in cancer prevention and control.

Undergraduates

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated, dependable undergraduate students to develop organizational and social skills in a psychology/medical research setting. The project offers the opportunity to be a member of a team of students, psychologists, medical personnel, and other professionals. Positions are competitive and offer many honor students the opportunity to present at professional meetings.

Preferred experiences include office software (such as Excel), online library searches, and a background in data entry. The ideal candidate is hardworking, willing to learn, and has experience with a variety of software programs, office work, and library research.

Research Staff

Research Assistant positions are competitive and include responsibilities such as recruiting, scheduling, and medical tracking of patients in a large interdisciplinary study; entering and analyzing research data; administering psychological interviews to female cancer patients; performing literature searches; editing manuscripts; and preparing reports from web data collection.

Preferred qualifications include a strong background in psychology with requisite quantitative courses or related field; strong interpersonal skills to communicate with cancer patients, families, physicians, and laboratory scientists; highly refined organizational and problem solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; attention to detail, editing experience; extensive background with computer software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Access); working knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity in a hospital environment; and strong data management skills; candidates with experience performing statistical analyses using SPSS in a social science research capacity will be given priority.
