Tammy A. Schuler
Tammy Schuler began her studies at Northern Arizona University in 1999. There she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude with honors in psychology and a minor in Spanish in 2003. She also completed her Master of Arts degree in applied health psychology at northern Arizona University in 2006. During this time, she pursued research interests in psycho-oncology and clinical experience with patients presenting with health psychology concerns and psychiatric disorders. Her Master's thesis was entitled Process and outcome Evaluation of the 'CancerFit' Program: Assessment of Mood State and Coping Strategies, conducted under the mentorship of Drs. Larry Stevens, Heidi Wayment, and Suzanne Daiss. She worked for the neuroimaging laboratory at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona from 2005-2006, which specialized in functional MRI and cognitive neuroscience research. In September of 2006 she began her studies in clinical psychology at Ohio State. Her primary research interests include psychosocial impacts on neuroendocrine and immune functioning and the health benefits of social support.
