Allison Rotonda was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She began her studies at Ohio State University in 1999. There, she was a double major in Political Science and Women's Studies and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2004. In 2004 she began working at Central Ohio Gynecologic Oncology until she enrolled at Kent State University to pursue her Master's of Library and Information Science. She completed her degree in 2006 with a focus on academic librarianship. Her final master's research paper was entitled, Access to Feminist Literature Using Library of Congress Subject Headings and examined the difficulties of retrieving core materials about women using standard cataloging methods. Allison began working with the Stress and Immunity Cancer Projects in March of 2007 as a research assistant for the gynecological projects. In the future she hopes to pursue a Master's in Women's Studies with a focus on the representation and access of women's health information. She is also very interested in women's fitness initiatives.
