Sarah Geiger

Sarah Geiger was born in Mansfield, Ohio.  She began her studies at The University of Toledo in 2002.  There she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude in Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2005.  Her senior honor's thesis was entitled How do 5-and 6-year olds Answer How and Why Questions about Natural and Artificial Adaptive Change, with the mentorship of Drs. Peg Hull Smith and Rickye Heffner as well as Kristin Szymanowski for the Department of Developmental Studies.  This study investigated the naturalistic, intentional, and functional reasoning patterns children use when determining the origin of natural and artificial parts.  During this time she also interned at Family Life Counseling Center in Mansfield, Ohio and was a clinical assistant at the Center for the Study of Anxiety Disorders and Depression at UT.  Sarah began working as a research assistant with the Stress and Immunity Cancer Projects in August of 2007.  She hopes to continue her education and pursue a career in the area of counseling.
