Marlena M. Ryba, Ph.D.

Marlena is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2014 from the University of Tennessee and completed her clinical psychology internship at the Jefferson County Internship Consortium in Louisville, Kentucky. From 2008 to 2011, she served as project coordinator and therapist on a clinical research grant evaluating behavioral activation and problem-solving therapies for the treatment of depressed breast cancer patients at the University of Tennessee Cancer Institute. In 2012, she designed and implemented a wellness program for the Y-12 National Security Complex focused on lifestyle changes and coping strategies for patients with chronic illnesses, including cancer. Her primary research and clinical interests involve examining process variables and treatment outcome associated with behavioral interventions for cancer patients. She currently conducts research pertaining to the dissemination and implementation of psychosocial evidence-based treatments for cancer patients with the aim of bridging the gap between research and practice.
