Nicole A. Arrato graduated from Fordham University in 2015, earning a Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. Following that she was employed in the Clinical Trials Office as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Neurological Oncology team at Yale University. There she coordinated clinical trials comparing the efficacy of immunotherapy and chemotherapy combinations in glioblastoma and other brain cancers. During this time, she also conducted research within Yale’s Department of Behavioral Medicine, studying the unique psychological and physical needs of patients with cancer.

Nicole began her graduate studies in clinical psychology at Ohio State in the fall of 2017. Her master’s thesis (2019) tested progressive muscle relaxation as a method to reduce symptoms and improve standard of care for patients with advanced lung cancer. Her dissertation research (2021) will implement a pilot test of A Biobehavioral/Cognitive (ABC) treatment for stress, depression, and anxiety in patients with advanced lung cancer. This research is partially funded by an OSU Alumni Grant for Graduate Research and Scholarship (AGGRS) awarded to Nicole.
